| | Nov 15: Patuxent River Canoe Cleanup and Outing « Thread Started on Oct 30, 2009, 9:46am » | |
Sunday, November 15 noon to 3 pm Patuxent River Park, Jackson's Landing 16000 Croom Airport Road, Upper Marlboro, MD http://www.pgparks.com/Things_To_Do/Natu....ot%3B%20target=
Explore a lesser-known local river and help keep it pristine and natural! Designated one of Maryland's scenic rivers in 1968, the Patuxent has unique natural and historical significance in the area. But that doesn't mean it's immune from the perils of its suburban neighbors.
Surfrider was able to procure free canoe rentals after the rental season normally ends, just for this event. Come on down and take in the autumn sights while we pick up trash along the way.
Supplies are provided; if you have your own work gloves, please bring them to conserve our resources. Dress weather-appropriately. Snacks will be provided. To locate a carpool, post right here or on our Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/dcsurfrider.
Please RSVP to dcchapter@surfrider.org so we have enough supplies and canoes!
